Ongoing technical leadership

Senior technical guidance for your architecture, delivery priorities, and cross-team dependencies.

Ongoing Technical Leadership

A defined monthly engagement

For organizations with internal teams or delivery partners that need ongoing help with architecture, technical decisions, and coordination across workstreams.

What each month produces

Monthly deliverables

01

Direction

A prioritized view of the work, its business purpose, and the next decisions requiring attention.

02

Technical judgment

Written recommendations on the scoped architecture and delivery questions, with assumptions and trade-offs visible.

03

Coordination

Named owners and next actions across client teams and vendors, with unresolved dependencies brought to the sponsor.

04

Executive visibility

A concise monthly briefing covering decisions made, progress against evidence, material risks, and next priorities.

Standard scope

Scope and capacity

  • One named executive sponsor and up to two agreed priority workstreams.
  • A standard monthly capacity of up to 32 hours, including meetings, preparation, analysis, document review, and coordination. The signed proposal confirms the allocation.
  • One weekly decision and delivery review, up to two focused architecture or design reviews per month, and one monthly executive briefing.
  • A maintained priority list, decision register, dependency view, and record of material risks and accountable owners.

The first month

First-month priorities

  1. Establish the business objectives, current commitments, decision authority, and delivery boundaries.
  2. Review the available architecture and delivery evidence; identify the decisions and dependencies that control progress.
  3. Agree the first priority list, working cadence, acceptance evidence, and escalation route.

Michael McClintock leads the mandate. Any specialist participation is agreed as part of the scope.

Working arrangements

Work is scheduled within agreed business-day coverage. The proposal defines availability, response windows, meeting cadence, and how time-sensitive requests are handled. A request for a response is distinct from a commitment to resolve an issue.

We provide a written monthly-fee proposal covering the mandate, capacity, term, payment arrangements, and review points. Work beyond the agreed capacity requires an explicit scope and commercial decision before proceeding.

Procurement and engagement setup

Review and renewal

At each monthly review, confirm the priorities delivered, decisions resolved, evidence still missing, and whether the next month's mandate should continue, change, or conclude. Handover includes the current decision record, open actions, and accountable owners.

This mandate does not include 24/7 monitoring, unlimited on-call support, a managed service desk, or uncapped implementation. Substantial builds, migrations, production changes, and additional workstreams are separately scoped. Client release and risk authority remain with the named client owners.
